...but what rhymes with crucifix?

I usually have a pretty good memory, so I don't understand why I have such a hard time remembering the names of techniques in jiu-jitsu. I can remember the Japanese names of things in karate and judo easier than I can remember the English names in jiu-jitsu. There are just so many techniques, and some of them they have multiple names, I can't seem to be able to keep them all straight.

Sometimes I'll get asked if I know a technique and I'll say no, then they'll show me, and I'm like "Oh, that! Yeah, I totally know how to do that." I just couldn't remember what it was called. I'm okay with the "basic" techniques, and I have been learning all of those names in Japanese as well, but I have a hard time with anything beyond that. There are so many variations, it's sometimes hard for me to distinguish one from another.

It's frustrating because I'll read people writing about this or that technique, and I can't remember which one it is, or we'll be working on something in class and I have to ask "What is that again?" I'm sure some of my partners must think I know absolutely nothing. Yeah well, maybe I can't remember if it's a Darce or an Anaconda, but I will sure choke you out with it just the same!

I think I've figured out a solution to my problem. Since I have a particularly good ability to memorize song lyrics, if someone out there would just write a song utilizing, and explaining, all of the techniques in jiu-jitsu, that would be great. Even though I practice Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, we use the same names as you BJJ people do, so any of you can feel free to write this anthem for me. Just please, for the love of God, do not write it in Portuguese.
