There were a couple of things I didn't anticipate when I envisioned creating the candy costume. First of all was the fact that it would smell so enticing! It was almost maddening to constantly smell the candy while I was attaching it. The hardest part of creating the costume was, by far, putting the candy on the dress instead of eating it.
Another thing I didn't think about was how much the darn thing would weigh. I moved up four weight classes when I put it on! I usually try to never wear clothing that I don't feel like I can fight in, but this dress was an exception. That's why I had the huge lollipop, I needed a weapon! It was all worth it to see the looks on the children's faces. Some of them were absolutely mesmerized. One of the little girls from Elmwood told Joe "I saw your wife, and she was in Candyland!" Yes, yes I was, for about the past two weeks. All of the candy on the dress is real (but sadly the lollipop is not). About eighty percent of it is still completely edible, so even after Halloween, I'm probably still going to be in Candyland for a little while. It's good to be the Queen.
